Abstract

Melanographium palmicolum sp. nov. is described and illustrated based on a specimen collected on a decaying rachis of Archontophoenix alexandrae in Hong Kong. It differs from other previously described species of Melanographium by its moderately dense and widely divergent conidiophore fascicles, and the shape and size of its conidia. A key to the eight species currently accepted in the genus is provided, based on the literature.
