Abstract

The Ti-Al-O and Ti-Al-B phase diagrams at 1100°C were estimated using thermodynamic data available in the literature assuming no ternary phases in either of the systems. Diffusion experiments consisting of a matrix of titanium aluminide with 2 at% Ta m contact with both Al2O3 and TiB2 were carded out at 1100° C for up to 192 hours.
