Ogot Award for the best book in Eastern African History and was a finalist for the Canadian Historical Association’s Wallace K. Ferguson Prize for the best book in a field outside of Canadian History. He is currently completing a book entitled Liberation Itineraries: Dar es Salaam, Political Exile, and the Making of the 1960s.
