The mechanism of hydrolytic polymerization of zirconyl solutions

Abstract

Solutions of zirconyl salts can be treated in a variety of ways to precipitate hydrous amorphous ZrO2. The phases formed upon heating these precipitates are described and rationalized based upon a theory of hydrolytic polymerization which had been proposed at an earlier stage.
