Spontaneous haemorrhage from the tonsil

Summary

The presentation and management of a two-year-old child with a severe spontaneous haemorrhage from the tonsil is reported. This was shown to be associated with an acute infection of the tonsil. It is suggested that early tonsillectomy be advised in patients with this symptom.
