The Teaching of Economics in Colombia

Published online by Cambridge University Press:  02 January 2018

Extract

This study was undertaken in June, 1959, because of the personal interest of the authors in Colombian education and because little is known about the present status of education in economics in Colombia. The cooperation of the various deans interviewed was gratifying; also appreciated was the financial and moral assistance of the Fondo Universitario Nacional.

Critical evaluation and recommendations are not included herein. Readers may be interested in making comparisons with the study of UNESCO on the teaching of economics in various countries and with The Undergraduate Teaching of Economics of the American Economic Association.
