7 In doing so the entire central archives may have been evacuated, because the Arbeitswissenschaftliches Institut building was in extreme danger of being bombed because of its central position. In any case it still existed in the Spring of 1944, because only on this assumption is the self-description of the archives of May 1944 (see note 4) comprehensible.
