Mr. Eugene Meyer of the United States, elected June 4, 1946, by the Executive Directors of the International Bank to serve as its President, announced on December 4, 1946, his resignation from that position, effective December 18 or on such earlier date as his successor might be elected. Mr. John J. McCloy, also of the United States, was named as his successor by the Executive Directors on February 28, 1947. Mr. McCloy assumed his duties on March 17.
