1. The Cezerī Kasim Pasa mosque was built in 1515 north of the land walls on the Golden Horn (Boyd, Hilary-Sumner and Freely, John, Strolling through Istanbul [Istanbul, 1972], p. 417Google Scholar). The quarter was a popular residential district for bureaucrats and pasas.
