APEX is a proposed Small Explorer satellite that will obtain high-resolution EUV spectra of white dwarfs, CVs, stellar coronae, and the local ISM. The APEX effective area (30-50 cm2) and resolution (~10,000) are an order of magnitude improvement over Chandra.
