Du paradoxe professional: médecins et ingénieurs des années 1800

Nous comparerons deux occupations, la médcine et le génie, que I'on désigne habituellement sous le même titre de professions libérates. L'époque qui va de 1750 à 1850 environ est, pour chacune d'elles, celle de la cristallisation de leur statut, de leur fonction et des bases cognitives modernes sur lesquelles elles poursuivent leur développement jusqu'à nos jours.
