Abstract

The desorption of methanol and isopropanol by a series of charge-deficient Ca-montmorillonites (prepared by a partial Li-saturation and subsequent heat treatment of Camp-Berteau material) has been monitored gravimetrically and by XRD. The results indicate that about half the total adsorbed molecules do not occur within the interlamellar space of the montmorillonite but are occluded in micropores between particles.

La désorption du méthanol et de l'isopropanol par des montmorillonites calcium dont la capacité d'échange a été réduite par chauffage d'une argile partiellement saturée au lithium a été suivie par diffraction des rayons X. Les résultats montrent qu'environ la moitié des molécules adsorbées ne se trouve pas dans l'espace interlamellaire des montmorillonites mais est incluse dans des micropores entre les particules.

Die Desorption von Methanol und Isopropanol durch eine Reihe von Ca-Montmorilloniten mangelnder Ladung (durch Li-Sättigung und nachträgliche Wärmebehandlung von Camp-Berteau Material präpariert) wurde gravimetrisch und durch Röntgenbeugung überwacht. Die Ergebnisse deuten darauf hin, daß rund die Hälfte aller adsorbierten Moleküle nicht innerhalb des interlamellaren Raumes im Montmorillonit auftritt, sondern in Mikroporen zwischen Teilchen okkludiert ist.

La desorción de metanol e isopropanol por una serie de Ca-montmorillonitas deficientes de carga (preparadas por saturación con Li y ulterior tratamiento térmico de material de Camp-Berteau) ha sido controlada gravimétricamente y por difracción de rayos X. Los resultados indican que alrededor de la mitad del total de las moléculas adsorbidas no se presentan dentro del espacio interlamelar de la montmorillonita sino que se ocluyen en los microporos entre partículas.
