NEW SPECIES IN THE GENERA MINILIMOSINA ROHÁĈEK AND PHTHITIA ENDERLEIN (DIPTERA: SPHAEROCERIDAE) FROM ANCIENT SITKA SPRUCE (PINACEAE) FOREST

Abstract

Diptera caught in malaise traps set in forests of Sitka spruce, Picea sitchensis (Bon.) Carrière, in the Carmanah Valley, on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, included two new species of Sphaeroceridae. Minilimosina sitka Marshall sp.nov. and Phthitia squamosa Marshall sp.nov. are described for the first time and compared with related species. Fourteen other sphaerocerid species caught with these species are listed.

Résumé

Parmi les diptères capturés dans des pièges Malaise installés dans des forêts d’épinettes de Sitka, Picea sitchensis (Bon.) Carrière, dans la vallée de Carmanah, Île de Vancouver, Colombie-Britannique, nous avons trouvé deux nouvelles espèces de Sphaeroceridae, Minilimosina sitka Marshall sp.nov. et Phthitia squamosa Marshall sp.nov. dont on trouvera ici la description inédite. Les deux espèces sont comparées à des espèces apparentées. On trouvera également la liste des quatorze autres sphérocérides capturés en même temps.
