KNOWN DISTRIBUTION OF THE EUROPEAN SKIPPER, THYMELICUS LINEOLA (LEPIDOPTERA: HESPERIIDAE), IN QUEBEC12

Abstract

The area of distribution of Thymelicus lineola (Ochs.) now includes much of agricultural Quebec. Several localized, low density populations were observed, especially south of the St. Lawrence River. Heavy infestations were found in the regions of Lac St-Jean, Joliette, and Abitibi–Témiscamingue.

Résumé

L’aire de distribution de Thymelicus lineola (Ochs.) inclut maintenant plusieurs régions agricoles du Québec. Plusieurs petites populations ont été localisées, plus particulièrement au sud de fleuve St-Laurent tandis que de fortes infestations ont été trouvées dans la région du Lac St-Jean, de Joliette et de l’Abitibi–Témiscamingue.
