Abstract

Coenopoeus palmeri (LeConte) feeds on the several species of staghorn cacti of the United States. The adults feed externally at night and the larvae mine internally. Adults are active in spring and summer. The larvae feed through the summer and fall and pupate within the larval mine the following spring. The genitalia of both sexes are illustrated and the larva and pupa described.
