La Croix-Rouge italienne a eu, le 6 mai 1913, la grande douleur de perdre son distingué président, le comte Rinaldo Taverna.

Né le 6 mai 1839, à Milan, il apparteriait à l'ancienne famille milanaise des Taverna et descendait du comte François Taverna qui fut grand chancelier sous Charles-Quint.
