Tea and health - part 1: cancer
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 11 September 2013
In a nutshell
There is good evidence from animal and lab studies that tea can have an anti-cancer effect. A significant amount of human observational data also shows a protective association, e.g. in relation to colorectal, prostate and breast cancer. This has been more in relation to green tea than to black tea.
There is so far very little evidence from human clinical trials.
