And he hit sende þam mæssepreoste, þe hatte Achorius. And he hit underfeng and sende hit to ðære ceastre, þe hatte Ieremiam, and to þam mæssepreoste. And he hit asende Talasius. And Tala soðlice hit asende to Ebream þære ceastre and to þam mæssepreoste, þe hatte Lebonum. [p. 75] Lebonum soðlice hit asende to Cappadociam þære ceastre and to þam mæssepreoste, þe hatte Machabium. And Machabium soðlice hit asende to þære stowe Sanctus Michael þæs heahengles. And þanan hit becom to Rome and in ða burh and þær wæs funden on Sanctus Petrus weofod and þus wæs awriten mid gyldenum stafum. And soðlice þa, ðe in þære ceastre wæron, heo ða dydon, swa heo þær gewearð, þæt heo fæsten þreo dagas and to Gode and to Sancte Petre georne sohtan [p. 76] mid ælmessum, and mid fæstenum, and mid wæccum, and mid halgum gebedum þone intingan þysses halgan gewrites, forðan þis ærendgewrit in þissum ceastrum becumen wæs. And hit wæs forðan, þæt on þam halgan sunnandæge þæt nan man hine to unnytnesse to swiðe ne geþeodde. Ðæt is, þæt nan man on þysne dæg on dome ne sitte, ne að ne swerige, ne wyrte in lehtune ne fatige; and þeh hwam gebyrige, þæt his fyr ut gewite, nis þæt alyfed to begetenne.

And nan wif hire yrfe ne meolcige, [p. 77] butan heo ða meolc for Godes lufan sylle. Ne mylnum nis alyfed to eornenne ne on huntað to ridenne ne nan unalyfedlic weorc to wyrcenne. Forðan þe for ðyssum yfelum weorcum forweorðað þas eorðlican þing, and se bifigenda dom cymð ofer gefullad folc. And ongeotað, ge earmingas synfulle, þæt on six dagum wæron geworhte heofonas and eorðan, sunne and mona, sæ and fixas and ealle þa ðe on hym syndon; and æfter eallum þissum swa gewordenum he gesceop Adam þone ærestan man of þam lame. [p. 78] And þa ðy seofoðan dæge he hine gereste æfter his six daga weorcum. And swa gedafenað ælcum men to habbenne restendæg, swa ða halgan englas reste habbað on heofonum.
