By petition, for the friars of the Order of Minors at St Edmund’s.

The king to all his bailiffs and loyal men to whom [these presents may come], greeting. Wishing that our beloved in Christ, the warden and friars of the Order of Minors of St Edmund's should graciously receive our favour, we have received them and the place where they live, and those things there appertaining to them, under our special protection and defence. And therefore we command you that you are to maintain, protect and defend the same warden and friars and their aforesaid place and everything appertaining to them, not interfering with them or allowing them to be interfered with in any impiety, annoyance, injury or trouble. And if anything should be forfeited in these things, you are to have it restored to them without delay. In which matter it pleased us … The king, at Northampton, on 26 April.
