Largest association of psychologists worldwide. Website has extensive resources for students and early career researchers. It includes PsycPORT (www.apa.org/news/psycport/index.aspx), which is excellent for keeping up to date with the latest psychological research in the news.

British Psychological Society (BPS)

www.bps.org.uk

Key body representing researchers and practising psychologists in the UK. Includes guidance for potential students. Its Research Digest (digest.bps.org.uk) provides free access to the latest summaries of new work. Senate House, University of London holds the printed book collection (www.senatehouselibrary.ac.uk/our- collections/research-collections/psychology). Information plus a catalogue can be accessed online.

Free access to this authoritative resource from the International Union of Psychological Science. It includes a timeline of the history of psychology; information on associations worldwide, plus a large collection of links to recommended online resources, many of which are free. These include literature searching databases and tests.

Social Psychology Network [Basic]

Excellent site maintained by Scott Plous, Wesleyan University, that provides a great directory of key psychology resources. It includes the latest psychology headlines and lists of standard textbooks, plus links to recommended online journals, blogs, texts, textbooks and topic related websites covering all areas of psychology.
