Summary

A 24-year-old female presents for a repeat cesarean section. She is otherwise healthy. She is deathly afraid of needles and demands a general anesthetic. It is important that you give her an informed consent for her anesthetic. Please explain to her your anesthetic of choice, and why. Discuss with her the physiologic changes that occur in pregnancy, and how they affect your anesthetic plan.
