Dr Chris Curtis (1939–2008)

It is with deepest regret that we announce the death of Dr Chris Curtis, a valued member of the International Journal of Tropical Insect Science board, who died on Tuesday 13 May 2008 after a short and unexpected illness.

Dr Curtis was an Emeritus Professor of Medical Entomology in the Disease Control and Vector Biology Unit (DCVBU) of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), a constituent college of the University of London.

He had been on the Journal's board for close to 3 years in addition to serving as a reviewer on the Journal for many years. Dr Curtis was a wonderful colleague and a true friend of the Journal and icipe. He will be greatly missed.
