What is Bred in the Bones? - Nature's Mind—The Biological Roots of Thinking, Emotions, Sexuality, Language and Intelligence is published by Penguin Books, London (1994, 220 pp., £9.99 (pb)). The author, Michael Gazzaniga, is Director of the Centre for Neuroscience at the University of California. He has written widely and is described as one of the world's leading neuroscientists. - Male Violence is published by Routledge, London (1993, 414 pp., £14.99 (pb)). The editor is John Archer who is Professor of Psychology at the University of Central Lancashire. He has written and co-authored a number of books in the area of human aggression. The contributions are mostly by academic psychologists. - Darwinism, War and History is published by Cambridge University Press, Cambridge (1994, 306 pp., £45 (hb), £18.95 (pb)) and is written by Paul Crook. Paul Crook is Professor of History at the University of Queensland. - Combat Stress Reaction – The Enduring Toll of War is published by Plenum, New York (1993, 284 pp., $35.00 (hb)). The author is Zahava Solomon and it is based on her work as a research psychiatrist for the Israeli Defence Forces Medical Corps.
