1 Tippett's Symphony No. 3 was first performed on 22nd June 1972 at the Royal Festival Hall, by the LSO under Colin Davis, with Heather Harper as soprano soloist. It was repeated on 25th June and, at a Henry Wood Promenade Concert, on 31 st August.
