Recent CIE Activities on Minimizing Interference to Optical Observations

The paper describes the activities of CIE in the field of fighting sky glow. The most recent CIE publications are briefly discussed, as well as suggestions for further work. Modern developments in road lighting as well as alternatives to it are briefly discussed.
