Abstract

A few neutron field spectrometry techniques are presented, namely those having impact on neutron dosimetry and using active detectors: spectrometry using recoil-proton techniques (liquid scintillation spectrometer and proportional counter) or 3He-filled proportional counters, as well as spectrometry using moderator techniques (Bonner spheres). Results obtained with these techniques are shown and compared. It is concluded that in most cases, at least when radiation protection applications alone are of interest, it is sufficient to use a Bonner sphere spectrometer.
