Fabrication of Pseudo One-Dimensional Photonic Band System by Grating Pair Method

Abstract

We have succeeded in forming a pseudo one-dimensional photonic band by using two gratings facing each other. This pair of gratings had a period of 278 nm. The frequency of the band edge was in the visible region. This method is useful to control the group velocity and the phase velocity of light.
