Gopal Rao, the editor of MRS Bulletin, interviews Vinayak Dravid, the Abraham Harris Professor of Materials Science and Engineering and founding director of NUANCE at Northwestern University and Vikas Nandwana, who is co-founder and CTO of MFNS Tech. The OHM smart sponge was awarded 3rd place in the iMatSci Innovation Showcase competition at the 2019 MRS Fall Meeting. It was also published in a recent issue of Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research. NUANCE stands for Northwestern University Atomic and Nanoscale Characterization Center.
