Researchers in China and the US have made a new safety helmet that is powered by a triboelectric nanogenerator and an electromagnetic generator. The hybrid device, which can deliver a power density of up to nearly 168 W/m³, might be useful for engineers, miners and disaster-relief workers, especially in remote areas, says the team.
