¹ I have read a review prepared by Dr J. A. Richmond as the result of an editorial misunderstanding, which is in substantial agreement with mine, but makes the following additional points. A sample check of the index of animal names shows omitted entries: καρίς 549^b12, 591^b14; κῆρυξ 524^b12; μαλάκια 706^b1; wrong references: κνίδη 620^b11 (read 621^a11); κωβιός 601^b2 (read 601^b22). Most of these could have been corrected by reference to Bonitz. There are inconsistencies, too: τετράποδα has an entry, but πολύποδα and ἄποδα have not. The printers' attempt to fit the lines of the Berlin edition into the Budé page results in many overcrowded lines of type, and probably also explains the loss of τοῖς before μυσί (698^b15) and of δὲ before τὸ ἔργον (705^b5). Other misprints are πεδίον δε (699^b37) and πορσθίοις (711^b24).
