1 The “native” or “indigenous” inhabitants of the islands are of course the Fijians. The Fijians are now outnumbered by the Indian population. The majority of the Indians in Fiji are Hindu, but there is a substantial Moslem minority. No Mohammedan or Hindu law has, however, been introduced into Fiji.
