Some Large Felspar Augen from near Ilorin Town, Nigeria

Abstract

Large augen, composed principally of single crystals of potash felspar, are sporadically distributed in certain banded gneisses. It is inferred from structural and textural evidence that the augen have formed by metasomatic processes.
