Abstract

Structural evidence from the Ben Lui district supports Bailey's view that the hinge of a major recumbent fold can be demonstrated there. Way up evidence indicates that all the recumbent structures from the Ben Udlaidh fold upwards face towards the south-east and south-south-east. The Ben Udlaidh and Ben Lui folds are therefore synclines. The attitude and character of the folds suggest gravitational flow.
