Cancer is a disease made up of more than 200 different types, making it unlikely we will ever have a single cure. Nevertheless, significant progress has been made in our understanding of cancer over the last two decades. The aim of this special issue to provide an up-to-date overview of the cancer research landscape, highlighting advances, challenges and future prospects.

We will consider submissions in any area of cancer research and are particularly interested in articles covering cancers of unmet need.
