Asociación entre el tratamiento de flupentixol y la emergencia de síntomas maníacos

Resumen

Antecedentes:

El flupentixol es un medicamento antipsicótico con conocidas propiedades elevadoras del estado de ánimo. Su propensión a inducir síntomas maníacos no se ha investigado.

Métodos y resultados:

Describimos seis pacientes, cuatro con esquizofrenia y dos con trastorno bipolar, en los que el tratamiento de flupentixol se asoció con la emergencia de síntomas maníacos.

Conclusiones:

Se debería vigilar cuidadosamente a los pacientes tratados con flupentixol en cuanto a la emergencia de síntomas maníacos.
