Preliminary Study of the Effects of Water Vapor Pressure on Thermograms of Kaolinitic Soils
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 01 January 2024
Abstract
Kaolinites found in soils generally give poorer thermograms than commercial kaolins. When run under dynamic steam atmospheres up to 90 psi, the endothermic peaks are sharpened and moved upward; the exotherm is made less intense and moved downward. Because of the effects observed, the method promises to be of interest in theoretical studies of hydrates and hydroxides.
