NOTES ON THE BIOLOGY OF THE LARCH NEEDLEWORM, ZEIRAPHERA IMPROBANA (LEPIDOPTERA: OLETHREUTIDAE), IN ONTARIO

Abstract

The life history and habits of Zeiraphera improbana (Walker) on tamarack, Larix laricina (Du Roi) K. Koch, are outlined and the immature stages are described. One braconid, one ichneumonid, and three chalcid parasites are listed.

Résumé

L’auteur expose à grands traits le cycle évolutif et le comportement de Zeiraphera improbana (Walker) sur le Tamarac (Larix laricina (Du Roi) K. Koch); de plus il décrit les stades de développement de l’insecte. Cinq parasites sont énumérés : un Braconidé, un Ichneumonidé et trois Chalcidés.
