page 175 note a Henry Duddeley was captain of the guard at Guisnes, and had been sent in embassy to the king of France by his uncle (?) the duke of Northumberland. On returning to Guisnes, he was arrested, and brought to the tower of London. His father (?) sir Andrew Duddeley, K.G. was captain of Guisnes.

page 178 note a Miss Wood, Letters, vol. iii. p. 290, has in error supposed that the earl of Derby was the lord privy seal.
