page 115 note 1 In Isca, pp. 88–9, I suggested ten; but this number included blocks with only one row of rooms instead of the standard two rows. Such single rows appear in the first cohort's accommodation on more than one plan. They may have been for storing gear, or may have served to house soldiers returned from detached service. Von P. says that there is no evidence as to their use.
