Summary
A trauma patient is brought into the resuscitation room with an obviously unstable pelvis. Despite ongoing fluid resuscitation with blood products the patient remains haemodynamically unstable, has profound metabolic acidosis and continues to deteriorate. Focused assessment with sonography in trauma (FAST) scan is positive.
