Summary
New US House Speaker Newt Gingrich provided the face of the 1994 Republican revolution and national “Tea Party” Senators such as Marco Rubio became synonymous with Republican gains in their comeback revolution in 2010. These twin victories were not only in Congress; they were just as sweeping in American state governments and have had long-lasting effects on the political complexion of the states.
