Summary
Hunter-gatherer groups have been comprehensively studied from a multidisciplinary perspective over the last few decades, particularly in an anthropological and linguistic context. More recently, molecular geneticists have contributed to the field, focusing on the genetic landscape of hunter-gatherer groups from evolutionary and historical standpoints, especially in comparison to agricultural groups. Hunter-gatherer groups have often been used as models of ancient lifestyles of modern humans, especially in classical anthropology.
