Summary

Reprints in which WW played no direct role are not included. Materials treated as first publications include some works of WW's used by STC as contributions to Daniel Stuart's newspapers the Morning Post and the Courier although these may have been revised or reworked by STC. Reprints in those newspapers of already published works of WW's were fairly certainly STC's responsibility, although some were possibly Stuart's. These and reprints in the Friend are listed in notes following the checklist. Valuable additional information about the MP and Courier printings is provided by Woof SB, which is to be considered a running cross-reference even if not cited explicitly. See also Healey 466. Woof SB does not include C22 (“Here lies Margaret …”). Healey does not note the very small quotations C38, C39, or STC's use of Klopstock Convers in Friend 21 Dec 1809, C42. Not included is Grotto (Courier 9 Mar 1802), almost certainly not by WW (Woof SB suggests Southey). Letters are noted on the principles governing Section B. For annuals see Section B.

C1European Magazine and London Review 11 (Mar 1787), p. 202: Williams #. Title “Sonnet, on Seeing Miss Helen Maria Williams Weep at a Tale of Distress.” Sgd “Axiologus.”

See CEY p. 71. For a photograph see Fig. 23; Healey, facing p. 160.

C2MC, 21 Aug 1795: When Love #. Not sgd. See CEY p. 24; B1.
