Summary
Daniele Agostini, Adviser, Italian Ministry for the Environment. Daniele Agostini holds a degree in environmental engineering and economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), University of California, Berkeley (USA) and University College London (UK). He has been advising government and private sector companies on environmental issues for more than ten years. Since 1999 he has been serving as expert adviser for the Italian Ministry for the Environment and Territory coordinating the Kyoto Flexible Mechanisms team within the Climate Change Unit. In this role he has participated in international negotiations as well as in the national implementation of emissions trading, joint implementation and clean development mechanism activities.
Conor Barry, B.Comm., M.Sc., is a Programme Officer in the CDM Section of the UNFCCC Secretariat. At the time of writing his chapter he was Senior Manager in the Emissions Trading Unit of the Irish Environmental Protection Agency, where his responsibilities included the preparation of the Irish National Allocation Plan. Prior to this he was an Environmental Economist in the Irish Department (Ministry) of Environment, Heritage and Local Government with responsibility for the implementation of economic instruments to support the National Climate Change Strategy, including negotiation of the EU ETS Directive.
Istvan Bart has been working in the Environment Directorate General of the European Commission since March 2005.
