Summary

There are two basic things that are useful for maths learning, one is the method and the other is practice. The resources given below provide lots of knowhow and heaps of activities for practice and application. Many of the organisations provide downloadable worksheets, which are invaluable for home learning and can be repeated until mathematical perfection is achieved – some even make the process enjoyable!

The Primary Mathematics Challenge is an annual mathematical challenge aimed at pupils of primary age, including schools and home schooling. It has past maths papers to download to use as practice before the Challenge. These include the answers and notes. Not only are the papers useful for aspiring mathematicians signing up to the Challenge but also fantastic for home use and as a learning resource. The Challenge is run by the Mathematical Association. Every week it sets a question for children to attempt and gives the solution later in the week.
