Summary

Tuesday January 2 1682[/3]. Yesterday his Majesties the Dukes and severall Ministers Coaches came to fetch the Revellors of the Middle Temple to Whitehall Wee suppose to present their Addresse of the same Tenor with that of the other house.

Divers Lords as the Earle of Bath. Earle of Aylsbury. Earle of Thanet, and Earle of Abington has Addrest to his Majestie for the Bayling of the Earle of Danby out of the Tower, but I do no heare that it is granted

This day the Duke as hee was hunting had it's said a fall off his horse was somewhat bruised upon his knee, but being immediatly let bloud is well again.

Some say Tangier is in danger or distressed by the Moores.

The Common Counsell some are confident is like to prove full as well as it was supposed to be

Saturday January 6 1682[/3]. The East India Company have lately paid Interest at 5 per cent for money that they borrowed at 3l 10s or 4l per cent, but made an Order that they will pay no principall till March, when they are to have another Sale.

A yaught coming from the East Indias that had in it it's said betweene 50 and 80 thousand pounds is cast away which will distress that Company more (if it prove theirs as it's thought it will)

The Turk continues to make great preparation for a Warr upon Hungary.

The Merchants and others, concerned in the Interloper of which Captain Sands was Master that was forceably stopt from going into the East Indias by the Admiralty upon a Warrant from the Counsell have served Process out of the Kings Bench upon the Admiralty and upon the Commissioners of the Customehouse to appeare in Westminster Hall the next Term this will also affect the East India Company.
