Summary

The book has its genesis in establishing the international studies Medical and Social Care Organizations Management (MOSS) specialty by Wyższa Szkoła Zarządzania Ochroną Pracy (WSZOP) w Katowicach (Higher School of Labour Safety Management in Katowice), in biliteral cooperation with Paris University 13. International in its character, it was to honor the inauguration ceremony of the studies on the 19th September, 2009 and to initialize a discussion at International Conference on Organizational Innovations in Hospitals (18—19/09/2010), held by Wyższa Szkoła Zarządzania Ochroną Pracy (WSZOP) w Katowicach in collaboration with two distinguished universities — respectable Jagiellonian University in Cracov and one of the well-known French universities – Université Paris 13.

The main aim of the book is to be used as a manual for overseas students of MOSS, students of medicine and nursing, economics and management and also for the managers of health, doctors, nurses and paramedic employees in hospitals.

The editors' purpose is to start the discussion in the environment of medical practitioners on organizational innovations in hospitals and promoting scientific research among academics on the organization and management of hospitals. We asked experienced health care managers and doctors, scientistis from France and Poland, who represented different interests, to contribute to the book.
