Summary
L'histoire de deux nations: polonaise et hongroise a connu plusieurs cas de la transition mutuelle des cours de la monarchie et des parentés entre-dynasties. Les Hongrois avaient Władysław Warneńczyk ou bien Ludwik Jagiellonczyk, les Polonais avaient Jadwiga Andegawenka et Stéphane Batory. Cet homme politique très adroit et «pas peint», comme ce souverain parlait de lui-même, pour les Polonais est un symbole du déclin «du siècle d'or» et d'une position puissante de la République de noblesse. Dans ce temps – là «beaucoup finissait».
Après des siècles l'histoire a tracé un cercle. Quand la Pologne revenait sur les pages de l'histoire européenne, c'était un autre Stéphane qui devait faire revivre une ancienne puissance de la République, bien qu'il comprit des problèmes de la Pologne dans la même façon.
C'était le descendant de Marie Thérèse, Stéphane Karol Habsburg, le prince à Żywiec. Si on avait réussi de le mettre sur le trône dans les années de la Première Guerre Mondiale, il aurait été Stéphane II.
Ce héros est né en 1860 comme fils de Karol Ferdynand von Habsburg. Son oncle paternel, Albrecht Fréderic, ne laissant aucun descendant a donné ses terres au frère Karol Ferdynand. Celui – ci les a partagés entre ses fils, dont Karol Stéphane a réçu les terres à Żywiec, dans la région de Malopolska (à ce temps – là c'était la Galicié).
