Summary
Dwelling consists in being in one’s world as in a “homeland” (Heimat, GA9:338/257), in being “at home.” (Since English has both “dwelling” and “living,” whereas German has only wohnen, it is easier to capture the notion of dwelling in English than in German.) The concept of dwelling comes to prominence in Heidegger’s later thought.
