Summary
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines analytical toxicology as the detection, identification, and measurement of foreign compounds (xenobiotics) in biological and other specimens. Analytical methods are available for a plethora of compounds including toxic chemicals, pharmaceuticals, drugs of abuse, pesticides, and natural toxins.
